We've never said we oppose betting shops per se, or want existing ones closed down, just questioned the wisdom of the 2005 Gambling Act that makes it damn near impossible for Council licensing committees to refuse them, even if there are loads of them in a street already. <br /><br />Paddy Power for example have just got permission for another betting shop on Deptford High Street, which the market traders and local residents will tell you it needs like a hole in the head.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
